Yelling At Non-Christians For Acting Like They're Not A Christian...

So many times I've seen this happening in our churches, especially in youth ministry. "Christians" get mad at non-christians for acting the way they do. Ha! Go figure! How about instead of yelling at them for not acting like Jesus, you tell them about Jesus! Besides you sin too! I sin, you sin, we all sin. Stop putting yourself above other people. It's like pastor's who preach about sexual purity but yet they can't keep it in their pants. HELLO?!

 Matthew 7:3-5 3"Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother's eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? 4How can you say to your brother, 'Let me take the speck out of your eye,' when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? 5You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye.

If "Christians" worried about their own sins & not everybody elses I truly believe that we would see more people running to the church, not from the church. Don't get me wrong nobody is perfect, but if you can't handle a situation where you might fall into sin, then don't put yourself in that situation! What would be your motives in "calling out" somebody's sins who isn't saved...  Here are four questions to help you figure that out...

-Do I want to catch them?

-Am I trying to control them?

-Am I trying to crush them?

-Do I want to cover them?

I would say if you answered yes to any of these questions you probably are doing it to make yourself feel better because of an insecurity. I would reccomend you read THIS!!! Our motives should never be to catch somebody, control anybody, crush them, or to be a cover for them. We should always point them to Jesus! In fact isn't he a professional at saving souls, healing hearts, & changing lives.  

Let's be Christians who: Walk in grace(God gives never-ending grace, shouldn't we?), Love like Jesus loves, & live passionately for him! Examine your heart, find your struggles & overcome them through Chrsit. Kill your sin! Love you all!

Do You Need Heart Surgery?

Psalm 51:10-12  10 Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. 11 Do not cast me from your presence or take your Holy Spirit from me. 12 Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me.

This has been my prayer the past few days for my life & the lives of those around me. That I would walk in purity as a man of God, that I would always walk/act out of the spirit & not the flesh, that God would continue to unleash his spirit on my life in an incredibe way, & that he would be my joy. These verses freakin pump me up! When I read these verse I feel like I could do 5 triathlons & wrestle a bear(and win of course) all in one day! It's so important as men & woman of God to walk in purity & not be involved in sexual sin. In 1 Corinthians 6:18 Paul tells us to flee from sexual sin, I know this is a HUGE issue for most people(grade school, junior high, high school, college, EVERYONE) I heard a pastor say that 99% of men have struggled with sexual sin at one point in their life, the other 1% struggle with lying! I will rip you apart inside, it will haunt you. Is one night of sex(out of marriage) worth a lifetime of pain & hurt? No, absolutely not! There is hope to be free from these struggles, that freedom is in Jesus. (Romans 8:2) It's interesting that it says in verse 18 "all other sins man commits are outside his body" I think it's important to notice that it's a heart issue here. In Psalm 51 at the end of that chapter David begins to say "You do not delight in sacrifice, or I would bring it; you do not take pleasure in burnt offerings." He is saying this because it's not about sacrificing a goat or bull its about the heart. God wants your heart more than anything else! Give it to him & let him do heart surgery on you! Get accountability, beg God to change your heart. That's my prayer for you! Love you all! Be Blessed!

Something Better Than The Mullet?

Have you ever been tired of the life you're living? Feeling like you're spinning your tires? or like you're hitting a wall that you can't get through? I know I have & it sucks but guess what... It doesn't have to be that way & God doesn't want it to be that way! He is calling you to live a life of excellence! You're probably wondering why the title is "Something Better Than The Mullet?" You'll know, hopefully. By the way anyone that has a mullet needs to get punched in the throat. Can I get an amen? Colossians 3:1-5

 1Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. 2Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. 3For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. 4When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory. 5Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry.

Like the mullet, our sin needs to be put to death. Some of us need to shave our mullets(sins) and run from them! Give them to God don't let the sin in your life have control over your destiny! There is freedom in Christ! (Luke 4:18, 2 Corinthians 3:17) Give your desires to God, invite Him in, ask Him to take your lusts away, give Him everything you have! Let go of the things from your past life! (2 Corinthians 5:17) A life with Christ is better than a life with a mullet(sin) I leave you with these questions...

-Is the life you're living, worthy of the death Jesus died?

-Are you living the life that Christ died to give you?
